Coffee Table Type1

Furniture

The coffee table, shown in the photo, is the quintessential combination of the natural beauty of oak wood and minimalist Japanese style.

Its top, made from a single solid piece of wood with no visible joints, impresses with its natural form. The irregular shape of the tabletop, with a clearly marked live edge, emphasizes the unique character of the piece of furniture and alludes to the Japanese wabi-sabi aesthetic, which values the beauty of imperfection.

The light shade of oak wood, with its clearly visible grain, adds warmth and natural charm to the table. The surface of the tabletop shows fine cracks and knots, which tell the story of the tree and add to its character. A distinctive feature are the butterfly-shaped inserts, made of darker wood, which connect the cracks and reinforce the structure of the tabletop. These contrasting inserts, typical of the Japanese style, have both a practical and decorative function.

The base of the table, also made of oak, is simple and minimalist. It consists of two criss-crossing beams, creating a stable and solid structure. The simple design of the base contrasts with the irregular shape of the top, creating a harmonious whole.

The entire table exudes simplicity and elegance. The absence of superfluous ornamentation and intricate details emphasizes the natural beauty of the oak wood and the unique character of the ‘live edge’ top.
